About bleuú :

bleuú is a label designed, pattern-made, sampled and manufactured in Melbourne, on unceded land. All elements of production are done in house, relying on craftsmanship and minimal external handling.

The label serves as both a portfolio of artisanal work, and a RTW/MTO clothing line.

The label applies the design blue-print of an atelier/old-world tailor. large fashion brands are often restricted by their reliance on outsourcing of skills, large scale of production and cutting of costs. These factors tend to limit their range of cuts, fabrics and construction types. By utilising the in-house model, There are fewer limitations in design and fabrication, allowing for more innovative and quality garments.

With a small scale of production, the design and construction is purposive and rooted in craftsmanship.

The design language of the label is largely informed by traditional mens tailoring, referenced in the use of old-world construction techniques and subversion of traditional archetypes. bleuú aim’s to draw upon the history of fashion, to re-contextualise and re-invent.

The design process for each garment is iterative, and focuses on the evolution of styles, as well as thoughtful introduction of new designs intended to stand the test of time.
